There’s no denying this is ‘the decade for action’ for climate change. In today's interconnected world, climate change impacts cross borders and disrupt systems. The time is now to adapt to these impacts, and that’s where the Adaptation Research Alliance (ARA) comes in.
In the first episode of the Action for Adaptation podcast we ask, what is the ARA and what is its purpose? Who are the people behind the alliance? What did its remarkable trajectory to COP26 look like - and how can people get involved in its ambitious agenda of action for adaptation?
Host, Aditya Bahadur, chats to ARA co-chair Professor Anand Patwardhan about the ARA’s goals over the next decade. Jessie DeMaria-Kinney, the ARA’s head of secretariat, speaks about what the growth of the ARA signals. Dr Poorti Sapatnekar joins to unpack the climate summit COP26 and the response the ARA had when launching at the global event. ARA Members Katy Harris and Dr Vikrom Mathur also join in to share how the focusing on adaptation is a global responsibility.
