#InitiationSeason| Kidnappings and deaths are grave concerns for CGE
--:--
Speaking to Nghamula Chauke, the Commision for Gender Equality spokesperson, Javu Baloyi explained the commission's discontent regarding kidnappings and deaths of initiates. Baloyi says some of these abductions result in death cases which leaves families without closure. He commended Limpopo as one of the provinces that still run the business of initiation schools with integrity. The commission had previously released a report detailing botched circumcisions, poor health outcomes and fatalities of boys and young men admitted to initiation schools adding that these atrocities are often associated with the emergence of unregulated practitioners who operate without the necessary government approval.
