Honouring Lucky Dube On The World Show With Nicky B

We honour the late great Lucky Dube, one of South Africa's most significant international performers, this Sunday on The World Show.
As the day of Lucky's 60th birthday and the 35th anniversary of his seminal record "Prisoner" draw near, his son TK and two of his long-time bandmates, keyboardist Ras Thuthukani Cele and guitarist Skipper Shabalala, will be joining us.
The release of the album "Prisoner" by Lucky Dube marks a critical turning point in his career. When it was released in 1989, it was a turning point in South African history that coincided with the release of the Robben Island convicts and the Rivonia trialists, which gave its themes of justice and freedom more substance. It combined reggae rhythms with potent social criticism.
