Gauteng govt faces potential bankruptcy by 2025, warns Maile

Gauteng Finance and Economic Development MEC Lebogang Maile has warned if the provincial government is not vigilant with its finances, particularly in relation to its Health Department, it could be bankrupt by 2025. The department was identified as placing the heaviest strain on the province with a whopping R18 billion in litigation fees. 7 departments in Gauteng received clean audits outcomes for the 2023/24 financial year.
