What happens when you mix sport, mentorship, and a spirit of entrepreneurship? You get the VUSA Rugby and Learning Academy’s Market Day a vibrant showcase where 40 grade seven learners from Langa step forward as business owners after six months of training and mentorship.

In this episode of The Social Impact Show, Sam Marshall speaks with Lebo Mokoena, Program Manager at VUSA, about how rugby, education, and entrepreneurship are transforming children’s futures. From food stalls to art and carnival games, these learners prove that with the right guidance, even the toughest environments can produce innovation, resilience, and hope.

Supported by Capitec and Shoprite, this initiative is more than a community event it’s a movement teaching financial literacy, creativity, and confidence, while showing children that they can create opportunities right where they are.

Lebo’s Challenge:
“Success doesn’t have to exist outside your community. These kids are proving they can change Langa and their own lives.”

Tune in and get ready to rethink what’s possible when we bet on our youth.
