SACCI warns govt not to kill the goose that's laying the golden egg one year into the pandemic

The South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI) has warned government not to "kill the goose that lays the golden egg" but cutting its support for business battling the impact of the COvid-19 pandemic. This comes shortly after President Cyril Rmaphosa noted that government cannot afford to keep funding the kind of Covid support mechanisms it has been funding to date. On Friday, South Africa commemorated one year since the first confirmed Covid case was reported in the country, and SACCI CEO Alan Mukoki says the impact of the pandemic on businesses and the economy has been devastating.
