To mark the 10-year anniversary of the retail distribution review (RDR), we look back on how the reforms came about, what impact they had on the advice market and ask if they were a success. In this 3-part series we speak to the key players involved, at advice firms, the FCA and in the industry to dig deep into the biggest ever change for the UK advice market. In episode three we hear from the FCA’s director of consumer investments Therese Chambers about how the regulator sees the impact of the reforms on the advice market today. We also hear from compliance consultant Phil Young about the adviser incentives which still exist today and Scottish Widows’ Jackie Leiper about how some banks are now returning to advice.
