South Africa and Mozambique are to hold a major bilateral meeting to discuss "ongoing tensions" in Mozambique, two months and a week after elections that have yet to be officially finalised. South Africa's international relations minister, Ronald Lamola, will meet with his counterpart, Veronica Dhlovo, according to Lamola’s office the meeting will not be a purely diplomatic affair. Lamola will head a group of "key officials" from government units, including the police, defence force, transport, as well as trade, and industry. The Mozambican side is expected to bring an equivalent gaggle of technocrats. They are due to meet for at least two hours on Wednesday afternoon in Malelane, just on the South African side of the border, and then tour the nearby Lebombo border post. Phemelo speaks to the Ministry of International Relations Spokesperson, Chrispin Phiri.
