By now, you've either been hacked on social media before, or you’ve heard of people around you that have been hacked. Hacking is when anyone other than you or the authorized owners of an account, gain unauthorized access to your accounts or systems. Hackers then impersonate you for their own intentions, making it very hard to get your account back under your control. This past  weekend, the official X and YouTube accounts of the South African Parliament were hacked to promote a cryptocurrency token named after President Cyril Ramaphosa. Knowing how to prevent this, and what to do if it happens can go a long way in improving our social media security, We spoke to My Broadband Editor, Jan Vermeulen to make sense of this for us.
