City of Johannesburg Clarifies Advocate Motau's Engagement with the City

The City of Johannesburg has moved to clarify that Advocate Terry Motau holds a
R2 million tender with the city following recent claims made by a member of the
Portfolio Committee on Education labelling the allegations factually incorrect and
misleading. According to the City, Advocate Motau was not appointed by the
Member of the Mayoral Committee MMC Loyiso Masuku, nor does he have any
contractual agreement with the City of Johannesburg. Instead, the city says Motau
was recommended by the South African Municipal Workers Union (SAMWU) to
facilitate a dispute over a collective agreement between the union and the city.
