Johannesburg is this week buzzing with creativity as the Global Creative
Summit officially launched its Media Event, setting the stage for a continental push to
unite Africa’s creative economy. The launch, held on 7 November, brought together
government officials, media, and industry leaders ahead of the main Summit
scheduled for 13–15 November in Rosebank.
The event showcased Africa’s Visa 2 The World initiative, a movement designed to
transform the continent’s cultural and creative potential into economic power, while
highlighting the role of youth and township-based entrepreneurs. Key partners,
including the Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, AUDA
NEPAD, and Y20 Co-Chairs, emphasised collaboration, investment, and innovation
as central to Africa’s creative growth.
