Zuma meets with farmers in Bloemfontein

ANC President Jacob Zuma was in Bloemfontein at the weekend and attended a breakfast meeting with farmers as part of the party’s election campaign. A small group of the audience comprised commercial farmers, who raised issues ranging from the impact of the drought to security concerns to the need for farmers to play a stronger role within the value chain. Zuma focused mostly on the forthcoming election, but in this extract from his address he reacts to concerns raised over the drought:
