Marikana community appeal for support

The Marikana land occupation consist of a community of oppressed and disadvantaged people who live in the backyard shacks in Phillipi. Earlier in the year, the Land Invasion Unit illegally demolished these homes. The matter was taken to the High Court and the City was ordered to rebuild the homes. The City of Cape Town has now escalated the matter to the Supreme Court of Appeals in Bloemfontein. Residents would like to be present at the Supreme Court on the 27th May, but is unable to attend because of financial reasons. On the line we have a resident Tumi Ramahlele to tell us more.....
