The provincial cricket federations took a much harder knock from Covid-19 than what Cricket South Africa (CSA) did in the last two years.

This is according to Dr Jacques Faul, the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CSA [https://cricket.co.za/] and the incumbent head of the Titans.

Faul, who was in conversation with Nick Efstathiou, the CEO of the Central Media Group [http://www.centralmediagroup.co.za/] (CMG) under which OFM falls, on the OFM Business Hour, says the national federation makes 60% of its revenue from broadcasting rights and 80% of that revenue is generated from Indian premier league content.

Provincial federations make their revenue from tickets sold, in particular suites.

Faul explains with respect to the Titans, they couldn’t invoice their suites for two years, translating to a loss of over R3-million.
